Best Mates

James was about to reply to Sirius' words when suddenly someone else took a seat on their table, and James' face lightened up. It was Remus. Remus was like the brain of the group and he had really missed him. James only had time to nod in acknowledgement at him before Sirius got all enthusiastic in greeting him and telling him the news. James couldn't help but rolled his eyes.

"It's nice to see you, Mooney" he mused putting his hand on Remus' arm before letting Sirius go on with his story. He was curious about their friend's reaction.

Remus smiled at James in greeting-all he had time to do in response before Sirius told him about his girlfried. He half wanted to laugh that this was the first thing Sirius decided to share, since he almost always had a new girlfriend. However, he noticed from from Padfoot's face that something was differant-he really liked this girl. "Oh? Who's this?" He asked curiously.

Sirius grinned sheepishly as he noticed his two best mates exchange a glance that was no doubt mocking him and his eagerness. "Her name is Katherine. And I really do like her, I'm just worried I rushed into a relationship with her." he admitted frowning slightly. He really was worried that he rushed into this relationship. He wanted it to last but he didn't know if it would. "But enough about my girl for now." he said smiling again, he wanted to hear more about Remus, and of course give James the chance to talk to Remus as well.

Remus raised an eyebrow as Sirius verbally doubted himself, but acquiesced to the change in subject. "All right then...So how's your life been, prongs?" Remus asked, wanting to hear what had been going on with his other friend as well.

James rolled his eyes again at Sirius' answer. For some odd reason he felt that the relationship with the girl wouldn't last too much. Padfoot was not one for commitment. When Remus directed the question to him he breathed deeply.

"Quite good, there's not much to say about my life. I'm trying to look for a job but I spend most of the time with Lily" he said with an easy shrug taking a sip of his drink.

Remus nodded, not really surprised. After all, it had been clear for years that James had been in love with Lily. And, now that she actually returned it, it wasn't surprising that the two would be spending a lot of time together.

Sirius chuckled, "Not surprising in the least bit. Now that you're dating you've got to keep her close so she doesn't run off with someone else." He laughed for a moment before adding, "Kidding of course Prongs. She'd never do that. Ever."
