Personal History: Andromeda is the middle pureblood daughter of Cygnus and Druella Black. She has an older sister, Bellatrix and a younger one, Narcissa. She and her sisters were close once, before they started schooling at Hogwarts. They still love each other greatly, but with them each being in different years, they don't talk quite as much. Andromeda had different opinions on life then her sisters, and the rest of her family. She can't remember when those views that she had been bought up with changed, or perhaps it was merely her intelligence that caused her to question them.
She was sorted into Slytherin when she first started at Hogwarts, and her parents were not shocked but proud. Andromeda didn't quite fit in to the house, but she was a Black. Nobody questioned a Black's right to the house of the snake. Her cousin Sirus was openly against the blood prejudice ways of their family and she knew that he would be her only ally if she were to announce her true feelings. Andromeda is intelligent, and Ravenclaw would have been much more fitting for her. She likes knowing things from every perspective, and it is what lead her to making her own choices.

RP how you got your letter:
Andromeda knew that it was coming. The letter that would change her life, but wouldn't change it a bit at the same time. She had been thinking about how it would be addressed for days before her eleventh birthday, but no amount of preparation was prevent her from being surprised when she opened the thick parchment letter and read her invite into Hogwarts. She was seated at the breakfast table and her parents were on either side of her. Looking up at them, they both gave a smile and a nod. She could tell that her dad was happy, and her mother was merely satisfied that she hadn't produced a squib. Though, with all of the accidental magic that had been occurring around her since not long after she was born, she had no idea why the woman was still worried.
More over, the risk of a squib would have been decreased had she not married her cousin. Deciding to stop thinking about her parent's union, she returned their smiles and placed the letter on the table next to her plate. Returning to her breakfast, she hoped that her parents would return to their seats. It was her birthday, so she was going to get enough attention as it was. Looking up, she shot a small smirk at her two sisters before her parents could see, "Not long until it will be all three of us going. I'm going to miss you, though Cissa." It was true. She had missed Bellatrix enough, but now she would be going to Hogwarts with her and leaving poor Narcissa alone with only her parents for company. She couldn't help but feel more bad that she usually would have.
